Unsure if any of the media was supposed to know about it, Apple (allegedly) sent an email to a French news outlet saying “Do not miss this event, a selection of new Beats by Dre products will be revealed by September 7th, 2016."

Apple’s new iPhone 7 will likely not include a 3.5mm headphone jack, so it’s not clear as to what Apple will include with the new iPhone when it comes to replacing the a pair of earbuds that every iPhone model came bundled with.

There are mixed rumors of Apple including a pair of regular earpods with a lightning plug instead of the regular headphone plug. There are even rumors about a pair of “Airpods” that could come with the new iPhone. But it’s more likely that Apple would sell these as a separate product. For all we know, Apple could be making Airpods and bundle them for free to anyone who pre-orders the new iPhone. Now THAT would be a great idea.

Still, we don’t know what this new Beats product is. If this email is legitimately from Apple, then we could really expect to see a new product born from Apple’s collaboration with Beats.
